Richard Roberts has written a great book on prophecy, Redeeming Prophecy: A Practical Guide to Authentic Prophetic Ministry. I found it helpful, practical, and an easy quick read. He deals with the 'hot topics' related to prophecy today, such as; the idea that prophets are strategists and after the biblical and historical tests finds this belief having little support. The second 'hot topic' is the relationship between prophecy and politics. This section is of great interest and I think has important insights pointing out mistakes of the recent past. I recommend Redeeming Prophecy for anyone wanting to learn more about prophecy and who desires to prophesy.

About the Author:

Dr. Richard J. Roberts holds qualifications in medicine, theology, and counselling. He has experience in church leadership and as a theological educator. Richard is a trustee of the International Charismatic Consultation and of Ffald y Brenin Retreat Centre in Wales. Since 2012 he has been involved in official contact between the New Charismatic Churches (non-denominational) and the Vatican. He is the author of Cultivating God's Presence: Renewing Ancient Practices for Today's Church.

🕊️The Awakening the Domestic Church (ADC) initiative was inspired by Pope Benedict XVI in 2012, aiming to reinvigorate faith in God’s vision for traditional family life, which is seen as the cornerstone of all healthy societies. ADC emphasizes that Christian families, as "domestic churches," play a crucial role in mirroring the Trinity and embodying Jesus' presence within communities. This movement addresses concerns about the departure from Judeo-Christian moral foundations in society, a warning issued by Pope Paul VI in the 1960s, and emphasizes the church's mission to evangelize. Pope Saint John Paul II's introduction of the new evangelization, which focuses on contemporary methods to preach the Gospel and uphold the sacramental life, further supports this mission. He tasked Cardinal Ratzinger with writing the Catechism of the Catholic Church in the 1990s to ensure a correct understanding of the faith. Efforts were also made to restore full communion within the church by engaging with biblically-oriented Christians from other traditions. In 2010, Pope Benedict XVI established a new Papal office, mobilizing over 800 individuals to encourage families to evangelize their neighborhoods, highlighting that a single family could influence 30 to 100 families through their evangelization efforts.
