Mary the Perfect Contemplative

Mary the Perfect Contemplative: Carmelite Insights on the Interior Life of Our Lady
Contributor: Hughes, Barbara (Author)

"Mary the Perfect Contemplative: Carmelite Insights on the Interior Life of Our Lady" by Barbara Hughes, O.C.D.S., unveils a profound exploration of Mary's spiritual journey, casting her as the epitome of faith and contemplation. Drawing from Sacred Scripture, Sacred Tradition, and the mystical insights of Carmelite saints, Hughes presents Mary as uniquely favored by God, yet intimately connected with humanity through her life of grace, faith, and contemplation.

This book delves deep into the heart of Mary's interior life, from her Immaculate Conception to her Assumption, illustrating her roles as the daughter of the Father, mother of the Son, and spouse of the Holy Spirit. Hughes skillfully weaves together teachings from church fathers, saints, and theologians with the rich mystical traditions of Carmelite Doctors of the Church like St. John of the Cross and St. Teresa of Avila, offering readers an unparalleled glimpse into Mary's contemplative spirit.

"Mary the Perfect Contemplative" is an essential read for anyone drawn to the Blessed Mother, seeking to deepen their understanding of her role in God’s plan of salvation and her example as the perfect model of faith. It offers invaluable insights into living by faith, especially in times of divine silence or mystery, guided by the experience of Mary and the wisdom of the Carmelite tradition. This intimate portrait invites Mary’s children to draw closer to their Blessed Mother, encouraging them to embark on their own journey of faith and contemplation.

ABOUT ADC PROJECT:

🕊️The Awakening the Domestic Church (ADC) initiative was inspired by Pope Benedict XVI in 2012, aiming to reinvigorate faith in God’s vision for traditional family life, which is seen as the cornerstone of all healthy societies. ADC emphasizes that Christian families, as "domestic churches," play a crucial role in mirroring the Trinity and embodying Jesus' presence within communities. This movement addresses concerns about the departure from Judeo-Christian moral foundations in society, a warning issued by Pope Paul VI in the 1960s, and emphasizes the church's mission to evangelize. Pope Saint John Paul II's introduction of the new evangelization, which focuses on contemporary methods to preach the Gospel and uphold the sacramental life, further supports this mission. He tasked Cardinal Ratzinger with writing the Catechism of the Catholic Church in the 1990s to ensure a correct understanding of the faith. Efforts were also made to restore full communion within the church by engaging with biblically-oriented Christians from other traditions. In 2010, Pope Benedict XVI established a new Papal office, mobilizing over 800 individuals to encourage families to evangelize their neighborhoods, highlighting that a single family could influence 30 to 100 families through their evangelization efforts.

Embark with us on a mission to deepen spiritual connections and unite our communities in Christ. Let's spark a transformation, impacting each neighborhood heart by heart with Jesus's love.
