This city had been buried in the eruption of Mount Vesuvius centuries earlier, but it was here that Our Lady promised the Rosary as a way to salvation. Inspired by her words, Bartolo restored a church, evangelized the locals, and purchased an image in honor of Our Lady of the Rosary. This church became a place of miracles, drawing pilgrims from all over and serving as a beautiful Marian shrine.
