Story & Symbolism: St. Charbel lived in the cloister for 23 years. He was struck with an illness while performing the holy mass on December 16th, 1898, died on December 24th, 1898 Christmas' eve, and was buried in the St Maron religious community cemetery in Annaya. A few months after, extremely bright lights were seen around the grave. From there, his remains were transferred into a special coffin. Hordes of worshipper started swarming the place to get his intercession.

Miracle: Since his death in 1898, he has made of approximately 26,000 miracles when villagers said light beamed out of his tomb. After slowing down at the beginning of this century, he has regained his form. “We’re seeing more miracles in these past two years than we have in the past decade,” says Father Matar.
