Story & Symbolism:
St. Julia of Corsica, also known as St. Julia of Carthage was a part of an elite family in Carthage who was sold to be a slave of Eusebius. He was amazed by Julia's devotion that he decided to take her with him to Gaul, where they met the governor of the island, Felix, who found out that was a Christian, intoxicated Eusebius, and tried to get Julia to sacrifice to his gods. Julia refused to deny Christ and said that she will serve Christ in all the purity of her soul. Felix was enraged by this response and had Julia struck in the face and her hair torn from her head and hanged on a cross until she died.
