St. Gertrude the Great, or St. Gertrude of Helfta, was born on January 6, 1256, in Germany. She pursued to become a Benedictine Nun to follow the Lord. When she reached 25-year-old she experienced her first series of visions that continued until the day she passed. She was also known as a great theologian. Pope Benedict XIV granted her the title, "the Great," making her the only woman saint to be called, "the Great."
