Our Lady of Guadalupe, usually referred to as the Virgin of Guadalupe, or more popularly known as the Blessed Virgin Mary. Around December 1531, the Virgin Mary supposedly appeared to an urban Mexican in the last few apparitions. A venerated portrait on a robe in the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe, Mexico City. This basilica has been the most visited Catholic pilgrimage site in the world and the third most visited holy site in the world. The Virgin of Guadalupe is also remembered as patroness of Mexico and of the Continental Americas. Native Americans often venerate her on the basis of commitment to America's conversion.

Story Behind the Product

Our Lady of Guadalupe first identified herself as Mother of God and Mother of all mankind when she appears on the Tepeyac Hill in Mexico in 1531. An indigenous peasant, Juan Diego, saw a brilliant figure on the hill. After that, Juan Diego visited Juan de Zumárraga, who was the archbishop of what is now Mexico City. Zumárraga rejected him in disbelief and asked the future Saint to provide proof of his story and proof of the identity of the Lady.
