Isidore joined the service of John de Vergas, a wealthy Madrid landowner, when he was barely old enough to wield a hoe, and served diligently for the rest of his life on his estate outside the capital. He married a young woman who also became a saint-Maria de la Cabeza, as sweet and upright as himself. There was one son they had, who died as a child.
